The Bodanrück stretches from Radolfzell to the east, a relic of the Ice Age with breathtaking views of Radolfzell, Lake Constance and, if the visibility is good, as far as the Alps. The same applies to the Schienerberg. There are almost 300 meters of altitude between the lowest and the highest point in the Radolfzell district – perfect conditions for easy to moderately difficult hikes.
If you want it alpine: a trip to Säntis in the Appenzeller Land or to the Pfänder near Bregenz offers wonderful views and hiking opportunities. Both peaks can also be easily reached by cable cars.
With the multitude of bike paths, you can adapt your bike tour to your needs. Flat paths along the lake are particularly popular with families, as even the little ones can keep up with ease.
Touring cyclists and mountain bikers can meanwhile let off steam in the hilly hinterland. Here you can expect shady forests and old castle ruins. To the northeast you come across the Bodanrück and to the west the volcanic cones of the Hegau.
Five Dutch bikes are available free of charge for short trips. Your bike can be stored free of charge in the lockable bike cellar.
Radolfzell on Lake Constance offers a full program of events all year round. You can find all events here.
Every Wednesday and Saturday morning it is worth visiting the Radolfzell weekly market with many regional organic products.
The Bodensee Card West, which you receive as a tourist at check-in, offers many options. All information can be found here .
Radolfzell offers many opportunities to enjoy the refreshing Lake Constance: diving into the water, paddling in a canoe or, on stormy days, windsurfing. The small lakes on the outskirts of the districts are also attractive. In winter wind and waves as well as the Rhine Falls near Schaffhausen (CH) are spectacular.
Those who like it quiet can visit the Mindelsee with nature reserve near Markelfingen. Very close to Amelie.
